Coconut mint chutney

Chutneys (chammanthi in malayalam) are delicious mix of some raw or cooked ingredients that tastes well with many of the south indian tiffins. We prepare chutney using a mixer, but it was prepared using stone mortar (ammikkal) in olden days and that added more taste to the chutney. So my first chutney is Coconut mint chutney...a very tasty chutney which takes only few minutes to get in shape.

To serve 3 people you will need

Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Dalia - 1/4 cup (a.k.a fried gram in english and pottu kadala in tamil and malayalam)
Mint leaves - few
Garlic - 2 cloves
Green Chillies - 3
Salt to taste

Method

Put all the ingredients in a mixer and blend it. Add 1/4 cup of water and again blend it. Don't make a fine paste.

Have it with idli/dosa or with vada. It tastes good. This chutney is not fridgeable.
